Ashleigh Mattern has worked as a professional writer since 2007, getting her start at the University of Saskatchewan student newspaper The Sheaf and The Saskatoon StarPhoenix. From 2017 to 2021, she worked at CBC as a reporter and copy editor, and as a Saskatoon Morning associate producer. In 2023, she published a young adult fantasy novel, Magicked Born. She’s the co-owner of Vireo Creative Web Design & Marketing. You can catch her around Saskatoon at the downtown library and book stores, riding her bike along the Meewasin Trail, playing soccer and ultimate frisbee, and going to yoga.
