Loretta Polischuk draws inspiration for her writing from nature, family, people she’s met and the magical, mysterious places she’s travelled. She began writing seriously when she was ten and has never stopped. Her work has been published in The Western Producer and The Society. She has published a middle-grade fantasy trilogy, Travellers to Shandor, and an early reader chapter book, Sasquatch in the Woods.
She was an elementary school teacher for almost forty years and loved reading to and with her students. She gave drama-in-context workshops to teachers and students and wrote plays with the classes she taught. Receiving the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Achievement was a tremendous honour.
Loretta lives on a beautifully treed farm with her husband and daughter and an adventurous cat named Albus. She is the proud mom of two children and two grandchildren.
